Breakfast casserole

Ingredients

  • 5 slices Day-old wheat bread Cubed
  • 1 lb Mild sausage browned and drained
  • 3/4 cup Sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 Eggs beaten
  • 2 cups Half-and-half
  • 1/2 tbl Brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tbl Minced onions
  • 1/2 tsp Dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • 1/8 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Butter and 8 x 8 baking dish.
  2. Layer bread, sausage, cheese
  3. Combine the eggs with the rest of the ingredients and pour over the bread sausage and cheese mixture in the dish
  4. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Bake uncovered at 350° for one hour.
  6. Recipe can be doubled
